    Early Life and Education
    Masako Katsura was born on January 15, 1984, in Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan. Her mother is a painter and sculptor, while her father is a jazz trumpeter. Katsura started playing the violin when she was four years old. She entered the Toyo Bunka University of Art and Design. In 2002 to study painting but switched to sculpture. . Was also well-received by music fans and critics alike. It peaked at number six on the Oricon Albums Chart and was awarde. A gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). In 2010 Katsura made her film debut in the thriller drama “The Fantastic Life of Yukio Mishima”. The following year she starred in the acclaimed romantic drama. “A Silent Voice” alongside Shoya Suematsu, which earned. Katsura accolades for her performance as Jinyu Kushina. Most recently, she has co-starred in the dark crime thriller “Killer Women”.
    Katsura has exhibited her work throughout Japan and Asia. Including a solo exhibition at London’s Tate Modern in 2016. She has also participated in many group exhibitions such as. “Eye See You: Japanese Artists From 25 Years of Contemporary Art”. At Guggenheim Museum New York (2015),
    Work as an Artist
    Masako Katsuura is a young artist who started painting and drawing when she was five. She graduated from the prestigious Yokohama City University of Arts. With a BFA in Painting in 2013 and has worked as an artist ever since. Bright colours, expressive brushstrokes, and an urban edge characterize her unique style.
    Since graduating, Masako has exhibited her work all over Japan. At various art venues such as the Yokohama Museum of Art. The Mori Art Museum, the Ibaraki Prefectural Museum of Art, and more. Also to painting and drawing. She also creates sculptures, installation pieces, and video art. Her paintings have been sol at auction for amounts up to $111K.
    Masako’s artistic talent has already made her an established artist in Japan. But her goal is to make her mark on the international scene too. She is working on her first series of paintings entitled. “Tokyo Metropolitan Area”, which will be showcase. At the new Gagosian Gallery in London this fall.
    Awards and Recognition
    Masako Katsura (born in 1988). Is the latest Japanese artist to achieve international recognition. She studied at Canada’s Royal Ontario Museum before moving to London. To study at the Slade School of Fine Art and then at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. Her work has been exhibite. With recent shows including Vicar Street in Dublin and Kunsthalle Wien in Vienna. In 2016 she received the Turner Prize. The most prestigious award for contemporary British artists.

     Masako Kusura is a young artist based in Japan. Who has gained recognition for her unique and visionary paintings. 
     Currently, Kusura is working on several large-scale projects. Including a series of paintings inspired by the works. Of Belgian surrealist Rene Magritte. Masako  Kusura is also working on a series of triptychs based on the legend of Jigoku-ji Temple. With such striking visuals and complex storylines.
